Olympic Week 2011

Thank-you to everyone for your support with Olympics week. We raised just over 200 pounds for the Japanese Earthquake appeal. The children had a chance to try lots of new sports and activities during the week and learnt lots about the Olympics. Please click the link below to take a look at some photographs from the week.

Olympic week is here!

Olympic week is here! I hope you are all looking forward to a whole week of sport and Olympic themed activities! I have three little challenges for you to complete during the week;

- Can you find out what colours the Olympic rings are? Can you tell me why they are those colours?

- Can you find out how many sports there are in the Olympics and can you name all of them?

- How many events are there in a decathalon?

Answers to these questions and lots more will be revealed during the week so make sure that you are listening carefully!

Photographs will be uploaded at the end of the week so watch this space.

Olympic Week - 14th - 18th March

This year sports week will be called Olympic week and will take place from Monday 14th - Friday 18th March 2011. Children will be involved in a range of sporting activities, some new and some old favourites.

The emphasis will be on developing the Olympic values. There will also be workshops for some of the children to take part in including Capoeira and Karate.

The Nintendo Wii challenge will also be back by popular demand!

Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit in school each day so they don't miss out on these exciting opportunities.

On Friday 18th March children will be invited to bring in 1 pound to come dressed as a 'Sporting hero.' This money will go towards Comic Relief.

Countdown to the Olympics 2012!

Here at Glade we are all very excitied about the Olympics 2012.

Dance Festival - Wednesday 16th February - Woodford County High School

Well done to our Year 4 group who will be representing us at the Dance Festival on Wednesday 16th February at Woodford County High School.

They have named themselves the 'Rocking Six' and will be dancing to a song by Eddie Cochran in a country style.

At the moment they are busy with their rehearsing to ensure that the performance is perfect! We wish them the best of luck!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back I hope you enjoyed the break.

Football Club - Apologies this had to be cancelled this week as I was off school unwell. We will be meeting next Thursday as usual.

Dance Competition - There will be a dance competition taking place on Wednesday 16th February. This will take place at Wanstead High School. Your dance musn't last more than 3 minutes. If you have dance skills come along to the audition. More information will be sent round to your classes shortly.
